The whole house, one group

By Robin — your host · 12 July 2026 · updated 11 October 2026 · 2 min read · Our method

A retreat house taken private means sleeping among your own: one group under the roof, no strangers added to fill the beds. The format settles the rest; schedule, meals and evening quiet are decided at your table. Jura 835, above Foncine-le-Bas, works exactly like that.

One house, one party

Filling every bed is the usual model in many venues: groups that have never met, seated around the same dinner. Here, the reverse. The house welcomes a single circle per stay, usually for a full week. Whether you arrive as four or as 6 to 8, the space stays the same and so does the price: it covers the property, starting at €4,200 weekly, never charged per head.

How a private house differs from a shared centre

In a shared centre you share the walls, the meals, the timetable of a programme that is not yours. Here you set the rhythm: the circle that sleeps in owes no apology to the one meditating at dawn. The big room hosts the morning session, then the evening table, with no booking sheet and no sign-up, and the mats can stay rolled out from one day to the next. At night, the quiet of the village does the rest: you fall asleep in a house where nothing is happening except you, and wake to no corridor noise.

What exclusivity makes possible

A house of your own bends to your programme, not the other way round. On request, we can point you to a chef who cooks on site, and a massage can be arranged in the house; nothing imposed, nothing shared, and nothing that forces the group to change its timetable. In the evening, a fire in the stove, and a conversation that can last as long as the group wishes, with no neighbours to consider. If the group wants a week away from its screens, the house knows that job too.

The outdoors, for the group alone

In the morning, the Mont Noir forest waits at the edge of the village. From the door, the voie du tram stretches over 11 km on a gentle gradient: the group can walk in silence, in single file, without meeting any other guests of the house. Back home, the walled lawn, 400 m² of it, stretches the break before the afternoon session. Some groups roll out their mats there when the weather allows, facing the meadow.

Trust, in person

Guests sleep in 3 bedrooms, with a work room besides and 2 bathrooms, all spread over 124 m² without a single step. Anyone flying into Geneva reaches the house in 1 hr 20 min. On the first evening it is Robin who opens the door; from then on the place is yours, one party and one only, until the end of the stay. Write to us with your dates, the size of your circle: the reply comes directly from the host.
